Cabinet approves signing of pacts with Palestine for Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation:The Government of India today approved the signing of a pact between India and Palestine for cooperation in the field of health and medicine: Under the pact, the two countries will cooperate with each other in capacity building of the health staff, prevention and control of communicable diseases, Physiotherapy and rehabilitation, drugs, pharmaceuticals and medical equipment among others.

Physio News: UK: A Cardiothoracic Physiotherapy team won recognition for its research, after making a presentation to the Society of Cardiac and Thoracic Surgeons (SCTS). Its paper, which triumphed over 38 other papers presented during the two-day event, focused on the team’s current research into physiotherapy prehab for cardiac and thoracic surgery.

USA: Study Reveals Early Physical Therapy Treatment Of Lower Back Pain Reduces Medical Costs and also Show Improved Function Compared to Injections or Surgery : The Alliance for Physical Therapy Quality and Innovation (APTQI) today announced the findings of a study on the cost of treatments for lower back pain. It showed that newly diagnosed patients with low back pain who received physical therapy as their first intervention had lower total Medicare costs and improved function when compared to receiving injections or surgeries as their first intervention.
