Peaceful Protest by Tamilnadu Physiotherapists on April 11th at Chennai

There was a peaceful protest by Tamilnadu Physiotherapists on 11th April (Thursday) at Valluvarkottam, Chennai for the formation of a state council and condemning the defamatory statement made by some doctors of IMA. Number of Physios from various parts of Tamilnadu took part in the protest.

Some of the demands:

(i) To reframe the Tamilnadu Council Act (Presented in the Tamilnadu assembly in 2007 but yet to be formed) in accordance with the Delhi & Maharashtra Council norms and to form the Tamilnadu Physiotherapy Council at the earliest.

(ii) Condemning the statement that “Physiotherapists are technicians” made by the three doctors of IMA and urging them to take back the statement

(iii) Job opportunities for Physiotherapists in Government Hospitals and Primary health Centres (PHC)
